Can somebody tell me which movie he acted in first? I know he acted in movies like Punjabi House, Kanmadam Tenkasipattanam etc... What do you think of him? Is he a better actor or director?

I think Kaliyattam (Jayaraj) was his first movie. He is not good as an actor. And he was succesfull with Siddique as a director. Wondering why he is not directing any movies..!! Anybody know why.?

I think he is good with his villain roles, not good to be a hero at all.

He is BEST in 'Kanmadam'

I my opinion is he was better in Kaliyattam he really came out as a villian in that movie

lal is a really good director. Just because his name does not appear on the banner, it doesn't mean he is not directing. Its all for tax- related - workups.
He can act really well but his appearance fits him more to villian roles especially with his masculine and low - pitch voice.
His best role ever was Kaliyattam where jayaraj used him brilliantly. And then in Kanmadam he was superb.
Mazha - he stinks.
Some other films also he was OK.

man someone need to kick him out from the hero roles. I don't like to see guys like him bein a hero.

01-01-2005, 05:33 AM
You are right . Hero roles need a minimum charishma. See Murali - he is not fair to look at and so he sticks with roles that suits him best and puts out his tremendous talent there.

01-01-2005, 05:33 AM
thats right, but I think murali is better lookin than lal. atleast his face is powerful. Aadharathile abhinayithinu oru bhrath engilum kittanamayirunnu. I saw Lal's ee naadu innale vare, muarali aayirunnu hero engil, nammal irunnidathu ninnum eekkathillayirunnu. that was a perfect role for murali to do.

There is absolutely no comparison between Nurali and Lal. If Murali is 10/10 thenLal will be 5/10 only. Lal overacts in many scenes.
Murali in Aadharam is the best performance I have seen among the current actors in Malayalam seconded by Nedumudi in Vidhyarambam.

lal is avery good actor, producer and director.he is capable of doing hero and villain roles very well.he dances very well.his best performances are kaliyattam, kanmadam, ormacheppu and thenkasippattanam

rajani fan whats wrong with u man??? u can even see LAL as a hero. thante okke soundarya chinthakal okke nasichoo? athoo ..........

I really liked his performance as 'aana pappaan Sukumaran' in Arayannangalude Veedu. that was a small role but lohi's dialogues were really good throughout the movie. There is a memorable scene in which he drives away a ruffian from the house of his lover but when she tries to invite him in, he goes away without saying a word. Scenes like that require natural acting..

01-01-2005, 05:35 AM
oh yea ofcourse he is a good actor, but can't he stick to those roles like in kanmadam, kaliyattam, arayannangalude veedu??? who can forget his roles in kanmadam, but who will remember his hero roles???
