Great news for connoisseurs of good cinema! Mohanlal, one of the finest actors in Indian cinema met Adoor Gopalakrishnan one of the Masters of World cinema last week. They met over breakfast at Adoor’s residence in Aakulam in Thiruvananthapuram.
It is one of the most significant meetings in Indian cinema, probably a watershed in Malayalam film history. The question on everybody’s lips is- “Will Mohanlal and Adoor make a film together?”
Mohanlal who is a self proclaimed admirer of Adoor films went to his house and has expressed a desire to work with the Master. They spoke for hours on everything under the sun including subjects like art and entertainment.
Adoor has his own way of film making and never goes behind stars, though he has done two films- Vidheyan and Mathilukal with Mammootty. Adoor is a rare breed. First he decides the story and picks the actor suitable to play the character.
So unless and until he finds a character suitable for Mohanlal, he will not make any commitments. But Mohanlal is ready to wait till the Master calls him!
