2006-06-18 : Though loads of Mammotty films are announced every fortnight, the two announced recently are likely to take off sooner than the others because both of them belong to biggies.
One of them is a Lal creation film. After the stupendous success of ‘Thommanum Makkalum’ the announcement of this film has created waves in the film circuits. It is tentatively titled ‘Pothanvava’. The story of course is by Benny P Nayarambalam who has two mega-hits to his credit (‘Thommanum Makkalum’ and ‘Chandupottu’) this year. Same is the case with Lal creations, but added to these two films they have the credit of distributing ‘Barathchandran I P S’. Director for this film is not yet finalized
Another big project for Mammotty is Renjith’s film ‘Prajapathy’. After ‘Black’, ‘Rajamanikyam’ was the film they were supposed to do. But Renjith backed off at the last moment as he was not sure about the subject. ‘Rajamanikyam’ turned out to be a big hit and proved that Mammotty is a flexible actor too. Renjith will write the story, screenplay and dialogues for ‘Prajapathy’ and once again after ‘Rajamanikyam’ Veliya Veettil Siraj will produce it. The Mammotty-Sreenivasan combo will also be seen in this movie after a long time.
Both the film are of utmost importance to Mammotty so after he finish his immediate backlog of films he will start on these two and we can hopefully see them by mid 2006.
