my book tells me that sathyan died in 1971. it also tells me that mammootty's first film was in 1979. so did he act as an extra? must have....very fascinating indeed.
chemmeen was a hit in 1965 so sri devi/1971 is wrong.

Sathyan is the unbeaten # 1 actor in India, we can say that.

Anubhavangal Palichagal, Chemmeen, Kadal Paalam and many other movies prove that.

No one has the perfect Naturalistric touch as Sathyan. Nedumudi approaches to that level but even then there is a mild dramatist tone in him.

Gobi can be compared to Sathyan.

yes, i still can't foget the scene which was sathyan drinking KALLU in a kallu shop from the movie anubhavangal palichakal(his last movie). He has the perfect natural acting ever. If u seen that movie, U know what i am talking about. Nazeer really sucked in that scene. He was drinking Kallu like MILK. No one in malayalam movie ever come near to sathyan. I wanna say mohan lal(coz i am a big fan of lal), but he ain't nothing compare to sathyan.

I don't like to watch old movies but I got this movie from my pappa and I watched it. Since then i am a big fan of old sathyan movies and lot of other actors such as Sukumaran(i gotta say a super actor, comes right after Sathyan), Soman

Yeah, Nazeer should have become an ACTRESS than being an actor.

I laughed uncontrollably when I saw him crying in a dead serious scene in "ASURAVITHU".

It was very unfortunate that the initial great stories written by M.T were acted by Nazeer. Sathyan should have done those and then it would have been fantastic.

In Kayankulam.K I could not feel it as a movie till Yeshudhas appeared on the scene as the actor.
So natural is his acting that it still revolves in my eyes.

In chemmeen, he made Madhu and Sheela look like kids (in acting). The realistic rough guy with the rough tone of talk is seen in none other than Sathyan.

Unni nice one...!! I never liked old movies but couple of years back I got some movies from my dad and started watching all of them. All of the sathyan movies were great. about Nazeer, Only ladies liked him, thats y he was in the film industry for a long long time and acted in lot of movies. "Meesa vacha pennu" ennalle pulliyude nick name.

Madhu, I feel like he is a great actor eventhough he is far away from sathyans acting. I don't believe madhu once said about mammotty and mohan lal. He told press that mammotty and mohan lal are better than Sathyan.?????????????????

Ypu were right. Sukumaran would be second in line to Sathyan along with Gobi.

Have you seen YAVANIKA, where the performance of Gobi is thrilling and excellent (real drunkard).

Nedumudi can be seen excelling in Vidhyarambam.

ONE FACT ABOUT SATHYAN:
He rarely used dupes. In the filming of chemmeen, actually he was in a small boat for the final shot of meeting with the shark (shark was fake).
And he fell into the sea during the shot and they had to pick him up with fish nets). I heard this from my Mom.

hahaha thamasa. yes i have seen YAVANIKA and Vidyarambam. excellent movies. i dont know about sathayn's fell into the see. In malayalam only two actors don't use dupe. One was late Jayan and now Mohan lal. All the others always use dupes.

Did U know, Sathyan was a CI of police before he came to movies.

I clearly mentioned that I heard it from my Mom ( that too in 1975). I somewhat remember what she told me at that time when I was a kid and I fairly think that this was the summary. COrrect me if anyone knows more regarding that. Thanx.

Yeah Sathyan was a C.I before he came into acting. Was a very social person. Also in those times nono cared about actors in Malayalam .( I have seen Lal going on a cycle in TVM).
